Dupage Submit Your Events - The Magnificent Miles West of Chicago™

All appropriate events will be entered onto the State of Illinois' tourism website and will be activated on that site at the discretion of the Illinois Bureau of Tourism. 

Appropriate events submitted by supporting members of the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau (DCVB) will be activated on the DCVB website within one week of submission.

Objective
The overall objective of the events calendar is to 
- Assist in growing the tourism and hospitality industry by increasing the number of visitors who visit DuPage County from 50 or more miles away and to increase the amount of money they spend while in the county
- Increase DuPage County's positive profile and image

Definition of Festival/Special Event
A festival or event is an ongoing activity that promotes tourism by attracting visitors and encourages their participation in such activities. The event must
- Have a broader appeal than just to participants and DuPage County residents
- Clearly and specifically target visitors from 50 or more miles away from DuPage County
- Present visitors with the opportunity to experience DuPage County's hospitality, heritage, culture cuisine, sports and the arts
- Have the capacity to be an ongoing, annual event rather than a one-time event

Criteria
- Events must be submitted through the online Events submission form
- Only one event may be submitted per form 
- Event must be open to the general public
- Event must attract visitors at least 50 or more miles outside of DuPage County
- Event dates must be final; tentative dates are not acceptable
- Descriptions must be no longer than 250 characters in length, including spaces
- Descriptions must be in sentence form, no more than two sentences in length
- Descriptions are restricted to the event itself and should not include sponsor names, time, costs, dates, directions, parking information, phone numbers, etc., as there are separate areas on the submission form to include such information
- Events must be submitted at least three weeks in advance of the event occurrence to ensure adequate notice to the public
- Cancellations and/or changes must be submitted at least three weeks in advance of event occurrence to ensure adequate notice to the public

Editing
The Illinois Bureau of Tourism and the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau reserve the right to edit all events submitted.
